Reminder: don't put the month next to your responses in your ePortfolio. They are here just to share when you'll do each one and show you what questions to put together into paragraphs to make your reflections flow.

My name is Chandler Mendlik and I am a sophomore at Indiana University Indianapolis pursuing a degree in biology with a minor in public health. My ultimate goal is to apply to the IU School of Medicine in the radiation therapy program. I am hopeful that through learning more about the biological process in my schooling and gaining hands-on experience through internships, I will be able to go above and beyond my goals. I found my interest in radiation therapy after completing copious amount of research into what careers healthcare has to offer. I landed on radiation therapy due to its significance in providing specific treatment to those who need it.

In August, write a welcome message that gives a brief summary of who you are (whatever you think is relevant, such as preferred name and pronunciation, pronouns, major, year in school, current jobs, career aspirations, etc.). Explain your major and why you’ve chosen this academic path.  In April you'll edit and update this page (reflect on the growth over the year).

Instructions: determine who is your audience (Is it potential employers, advisers from the school, or a mentor?). Knowing your audience affects the information you decide to include. An eportfolio is a great way to collect your thoughts and experiences for writing future grad school personal statements, sharing with a recommendation writer to get a broader perspective on who you are, or for communicating your internship work with future employers. Add a sentence to your homepage sharing that purpose such as “I’ll be sharing my internship experience on this site” or “learn more about me as a well-rounded student and professional.”
